If you are planning a trip to Japan and love Japanese sports cars, Daikoku PA (Daikoku Parking Area) in Yokohama is one experience you cannot miss. It is Japan's most famous car meet, held every Friday and Saturday night on the Shuto Expressway — and with a guided JDM tour, you can experience it without a car.
What Is Daikoku PA?
Daikoku Parking Area is a highway rest stop on the Yokohama Bayshore Route of the Shuto Expressway, roughly 30 minutes from central Tokyo. Every weekend night, hundreds of Japan's most iconic sports cars gather: Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32, R33, R34), Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, Honda NSX, and more. The atmosphere is electric — engine sounds, modified exhausts, and enthusiasts from all over Japan and the world walking between cars.
Can Tourists Visit Daikoku PA Without a Car?
Yes — but only via a guided tour, because Daikoku PA is on a toll expressway with no train or bus access. Daikoku Tour by Samurai Car Japan JDM runs private English-guided tours every Friday and Saturday night, departing from Yokohama Station or with hotel pickup from central Tokyo.
